Summary
The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for providing leadership, motivation, accountability and development of Seagate personnel within the assigned areas and ensuring assigned areas are consistently meeting quality timeless standards for cleanliness along with budget objectives. Develop and maintain a professional and effective relationship with properties management, vendors and service.
Must have experience as a Director of Housekeeping in a luxury hotel.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.

Responsibilities
- Plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the Housekeeping Department to meet the daily needs of the operation for the hotel. This position will also provide coverage for our yacht club, and may occasionally be asked to provide service to our other entities.
- Delegate responsibility and authority for the housekeeping operation e.g., Assistant Housekeeping Manager, Floor Supervisors, PM Supervisor and Laundry Supervisor.
- Develop, implement and monitor schedules for the housekeeping operation of to achieve the budgeted goals.
- Implement effective cost control, labor, supplies, equipment, etc. Ensure proper use, maintenance, repair and storage of all supplies, equipment and facilities.
- Standard Operating Procedures the Housekeeping Supervisors as well the operating tools necessary and incidental to modern management principles, e.g., budgeting, forecasting, purchase specifications, report preparation and presentation, etc.
- Maintain all Seagate properties housekeeping staffing levels to provide for optimal performance
- Interviews, selects all department management level personnel
- Schedules all management level personnel to provide for proper supervision at all times
- Leads the operation of Alice, our housekeeping software, ensuring it is used to its full capacity by all team members and all guests' requests are filled in a timely manner.
- Stays current with industry related technological improvements geared toward improved efficiency of delivery, and/or quality of product provided
- Coordinates special projects related to housekeeping operations as determined by the Hotel Manager or other executives
- Assist the Housekeeping Seagate properties Supervisors in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives and desired standards of quality, service, safety and cleanliness.
- Revise existing programs and create new ones in order to maintain high levels of service.
- Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of the personnel in the Housekeeping Department. Plan and administer a training and development program within the Department which will provide well trained employees at all levels and permit advancement for those persons qualified and interested in career development. Prepare job descriptions, conduct regularly scheduled employee meetings, etc.
- Attends all required meetings to keep abreast of in-house activities/promotions and upcoming events; maintain communication with other departments within the hotel
- Holds daily, weekly and monthly department meetings designed to provide necessary contact and operating information for all departmental employees
- Deals directly with guests whenever necessary to solve problems and ensure satisfaction
- Coordinates with Hotel Manager to determine purchase requirements for all guest room linen, terry, supplies and employee uniforms
- Conduct product quality and routine grounds inspections in accordance with company policy to uphold outstanding guest service.
- Inspects all areas of resort to ensure all furnishings, fixtures are presentable, equipment are in good repair.
- Supervises remodeling and renovation.
- Supervises the Preventative Maintenance in cooperation with Engineering.
- Evaluate changes in guest needs, the hotels guest mix and industry competitive set, to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes necessary to ensure guest and employee satisfaction, while maintaining market dominance and exceptional financial performance
Physical Requirements
- This is a working position. Must be on the guest room floors on at least 70% of the work time. Required to work weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary. Must be flexible with the work schedule based on the demands of the business levels.
- Stand, walk and work for extended periods of time.
- Lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds and pushcart weighing up to 250 pounds.
