We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our team working at our Fairfax, VA office location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Employee Relations
Maintains strong employee situation awareness through ongoing dialogue with Trident employees regarding the quality of company benefits, events, corporate culture, and employee morale.
Works closely with Senior Human Resources Manager to analyze ongoing employee satisfaction and trends and initiate change and implement programs where necessary.
Facilitates communication and resolution of employee suggestions and complaints.
Maintains online HR portals and communication sites.
Facilitates internal communications including maintaining on-line employee information resources and HR updates to digital media.
Plans annual events such as holiday party, picnics, sports tickets, and companywide all hands meetings in coordination with operations staff.
Responsible for facilitating the separation process including exit interviews and outprocessing.
Policy, Procedures and Planning
Responsible for developing, communicating, and making updates to HR policies and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining digital platforms used to support Employee Handbook, onboarding, training, employee files and performance reviews.
Conducts Human Resources strategic planning with Trident Leadership team to ensure HR strategies are in alignment with corporate strategic goals.
Enhance overall Diversity Equity and Inclusion corporate wide through strategic, training and recruiting efforts.
Recruiting
Establishes recruiting procedures, standardizes the recruiting process, and provides training on effective interviewing and recruiting. Ensure the greatest visibility of Trident to prospective job seekers.
Works with Recruiter to manage, analyze, and update the Employee Referral Bonus Program, as needed.
Supports Recruiter to coordinate recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
Works to increase veterans, minority, and disability recruiting numbers.
Benefits/Compensation
Updates Trident's annual compensation plan.
Performs Benchmarking- Collects/surveys, analyzes, and reports occupational, benefit and salary data to ensure Trident remains competitive.
Manages and maintains accurate account of bonuses.
Oversees Trident employee benefits support, to include communication of company benefit programs, including rollout of new benefit plans and programs.
Performance Management/Training and Development
Manages performance management systems and processes to support the overall performance review process.
Plan, organize, coordinate, and conduct Trident staff development and training programs.
Establish employee career path descriptions and conduct career counseling.
Oversees annual HR compliance trainings.
Compliance
Oversees compliance with State and Federal employment laws including FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Affirmative Action requirements.
Oversees compliance of Affirmative Action job categories, new hire tracking, promotions terminations, and ensures preparation of the Annual Affirmative Action plan, EEO-1 form and Vets-4212 form.
Manages ADA/FMLA requests and compliance with the support of the Senior Human Resources Manager.
Fiscal Responsibility
Works with Vice President Corporate to set the Human Resources budget annually.
Manages budget, monitors activities and approves expenses.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: BA / BS or equivalent additional related work experience required
Years of Experience: Years of Experience: 10 years of progressive responsibility in Human Resources and Management

- Excellent communications skills for heavy interaction with Vice Presidents, Board Members, Program Managers and professional staff.
- Must have creativity, strong written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to execute presentations, talking points, and written correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of basic human resources theories and principles.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety guidelines, and applicable federal and state laws.
- Ability to draft, execute, and enforce companywide policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of all Trident Employee Benefits & Incentive Plans.
- Knowledge of basic computer use and related systems.
- Knowledge and background in basic statistics.
- Knowledge of HRIS Systems
- Knowledge of effective employee relations, recruitment practices, performance management, compensation, benefits, training and development.
- Ability to effectively relate and work with all levels of Trident employees.
- Ability to effectively arbitrate employee complaints and concerns.
- Ability to effectively collect, analyze, evaluate and prepare human resource metrics
