SOL's Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, policy creation, compliance with employment laws, and strategic workforce planning, while aligning HR initiatives with overall business objectives and fostering a positive firm culture; the Director of HR will manage a team of HR professionals, other related firm personnel and report directly to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities (The list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may vary):

Strategic HR Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with the firm's business goals, including talent acquisition, retention, succession planning, departmental budgeting and workforce optimization.

Talent Acquisition:

Lead the recruitment process, including job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.

Employee Relations:

Manage employee concerns, address grievances, and ensure a positive work environment by promoting open communication and conflict resolution.

Compensation and Benefits:

Design and administer competitive compensation packages, benefits plans, and performance-based incentive programs.

Performance Management:

Establish performance evaluation systems, provide ongoing feedback to employees, and identify development opportunities.

Training and Development:

Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and career progression.

Compliance:

Ensure adherence to all applicable employment laws and regulations regarding hiring, termination, discrimination, and workplace safety.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

Monitor key HR metrics, analyze data, and provide actionable insights to leadership on workforce trends and effectiveness.

Team Leadership:

Manage and develop a high-performing HR team, including assigning tasks, coaching, and performance reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 16 + years of proven experience in senior HR leadership roles, ideally across multiple industries.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • SHRM Certification desired.
  • Working knowledge of HR law and regulatory standards.
  • Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
  • Proven payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of HR practices and principles and budgeting.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
