Knobelsdorff Enterprises is seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources. The Director of HR will contribute to several aspects of human resources, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and employee development, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in the construction industry.
This role will manage and mentor Divisional HR Generalists across different company divisions, ensuring consistent and effective HR practices across all levels of the organization. The Director of HR will play a critical role in ensuring the HR department supports Knobelsdorff Enterprises' strategic operational goals while fostering a positive and compliant work environment.

This role will manage and mentor Divisional HR Generalists across different company divisions, ensuring consistent and effective HR practices across all levels of the organization. The Director of HR will play a critical role in ensuring the HR department supports Knobelsdorff Enterprises' strategic operational goals while fostering a positive and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational HR Leadership: Lead and manage all Divisional HR operations ensuring alignment with organizational goals, including staffing needs, workforce planning, and employee retention strategies.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and provide direct leadership and mentorship to Divisional HR Generalists. Ensure consistency in HR practices across divisions and provide guidance in managing day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
- Employee Relations: Foster positive relationships between employees and management. Address and resolve employee concerns or conflicts while ensuring a harmonious and compliant work environment.
- Training and Development: Support training programs to promote professional growth, safety practices, and industry best practices. Work with the Director of Learning and Development and Divisional HR Generalists and field supervisors to identify skill gaps and develop programs to close them.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all HR practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including labor laws, workplace safety, and diversity and inclusion policies. Conduct regular audits and assessments to mitigate risks.
- Performance Management: Establish and oversee performance management systems to ensure continuous improvement and accountability. Coach managers on effective performance reviews and employee development.
- Safety Culture: In collaboration with project managers and safety officers, reinforce the company's safety culture and compliance with OSHA regulations, ensuring all staff are trained in safety procedures and practices.
- HR Metrics and Reporting: Analyze HR data to identify trends, make recommendations, and improve decision-making in workforce management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HR management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within construction or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and compliance, especially related to the construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring HR teams, particularly Divisional HR Generalists.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to implement strategic HR initiatives while managing day-to-day HR operations.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in HR metrics and reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growth-oriented environment.

- Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
