Director of Infrastructure

Job Description

• Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Tier 3 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

• Oversee the recruitment, training, and professional development of team members.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Infrastructure Management:

• Ensure the optimal performance, availability, and security of network, server, storage, and backup systems internally and for all our clients

• Develop and implement infrastructure strategies, policies, and procedures.

• Monitor and manage infrastructure capacity and performance, inventories, etc.

• Manage both internal and external (client) infrastructure environments fully

• Project Management:

• Lead and manage infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.

• Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

• Ticket Escalation and Incident Management:

• Oversee the resolution of complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.

• Ensure timely and effective incident response and resolution.

• Implement and maintain incident management processes and documentation.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on networks and system administration.
• At least 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams of engineers or technicians.
• Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects, including budgeting and risk management.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and network security best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions.
• Proficient in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting complex network and systems issues.
• Experience in IT service management (ITSM) and incident management (e.g., ITIL framework).

Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, PMP) are a plus.
