Responsibilities
The position of Director of Admissions provides effective leadership within the Admissions Department and the ability to organize Admission staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, referral sources through the referral and admission process. This position has supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees as well as appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. The Admissions Director is accountable for management of the department, providing training and supervision for Intake staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as external referrals including hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The working position of Director of Admissions is responsible for administrative duties including completing staffing schedules, reports, quality improvement, and assuring compliance with all policy and procedures and applicable mental health laws, codes, rules, and regulations.
This position is part of the Executive Team and Administrator on Call rotation.
Salaried, Exempt position. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday and may include evenings and weekends as necessary.

Education:
Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.); or RN preferably BSN.
Experience:
Must have three years' experience working in a clinical setting, providing direct patient care and/or previous admission experience; including appropriate on-the-job training and experience to meet the duties and responsibilities of this position. Able to demonstrate knowledge of organizational structure and programs provided by the hospital. Must have marketing and sales abilities, as well as, the ability to complete clinical assessments.
Previous leadership experience strongly preferred.
License / Certification:
Licensed RN, LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred. BLS / CPI certification.
Physical requirements:
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is rated light work when it requires: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight of the materials is negligible.
