The Director of IT Operations oversees and manages the IT operations, strategy, and team within the IT department. The Director will be responsible for the alignment of technology with business objectives, managing day-to-day IT functions, and leading digital transformation initiatives. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and an ability to drive innovation, security, and efficiency across all IT platforms.

The Director of IT Operations oversees and manages the IT operations, strategy, and team within the IT department. The Director will be responsible for the alignment of technology with business objectives, managing day-to-day IT functions, and leading digital transformation initiatives. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and an ability to drive innovation, security, and efficiency across all IT platforms.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree
- 15+ years of IT experience including 5 years of management
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and executing large-scale IT projects.
- Proven track record in managing IT infrastructure, operations, security, and digital transformation.
- Ability to analyze collected data, define and validate problems and resolve using common analytical methods of reasoning.
- Knowledge of variety of IT systems, networks, databases, and cloud-based technologies, including:
- VMware configuration and management
- SAN management with VMware integration
- IBMi (AS/400) administration
- Unitrends backup, Spanning365 and recovery and DRaaS Forever Cloud
- Sonicwall Firewall management and configuration
- Disaster Recovery and Incident response planning
- Microsoft Azure resource planning
- Info Security knowledge: IT governance, security frameworks, and compliance standards (such as GDPR, HIPAA)
- Expertise in managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and resource allocation.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities of various technical projects to ensure delivery of commitments in conformance with budgets and established timelines.
- Plan and oversee the research, evaluation and integration of new technology, data administration, capacity and contingency planning, training and technical support for the technical support team.
- Lead in the design, development, implementation and support of technical support systems and prepare project plans and schedules for technical systems development and support efforts.
- Communicate with internal and external customers, as appropriate, to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and technical systems development and support.
- Monitor organizational technical projects to ensure consistency and satisfaction of technical interface requirements for existing and newly developing systems.
- Review help desk reports to identify problem areas or training needs stemming - from project implementations.
- Develop budget for the technical support functions.
- Provide backup coverage for technical and operations support personnel when required.
- Organize, document, implement and monitor complex vendor supplied and internally developed system software components.
- Manage a team of about 5 people.
