Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Director of IT to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of IT that will prepare the company for fast growth and rapidly changing technology driven by AI. They are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and day-to-day operations of the organization's IT department, as well as collaborating with departments such as Engineering, Facilities, and Operations as needed. This role ensures that IT systems, infrastructure, and services align with business goals, support operational efficiency across all departments, and maintain high standards of security, scalability, and support to employees.

We expect unimaginable changes in IT over the next 5-10 years and want to make sure that we stay on the cutting edge while the company grows at a fast pace. We have opportunities and initiatives across cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications, secure/classified, support, cloud, and AI. We are looking for an exceptional director to fill this greatly expanded role.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Director of IT:
  • Provide key support, working with the Director of Information Systems, for cross-company initiatives where IT is part of the total solution
  • Hands-on leadership in managing on-premises virtualization, storage systems, networking, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans across enterprise-scale environments
  • Design and maintain secure, high-availability network infrastructure for multi-location operations, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimized performance
  • Direct day-to-day IT operations including Help Desk and enterprise support, delivering scalable solutions and service excellence to thousands of users
  • Spearhead adoption of AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, data analysis, and intelligent automation across business functions
  • Work independently of the CTO, taking on large scopes and initiatives
  • Manage IT budgets, including forecasting, procurement, and cost control
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Understand mentoring best practices to build a world class IT team
  • Delegates project assignments to team
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
    Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. An Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • 20 or more years' experience in IT
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 compliance, handling controlled unclassified information (CUI) and CMMC preferred
  • Strong technical base in IT (networking, storage, system administration, secure computing, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software systems across multiple sites
  • Experience managing secure/classified teams, including ISSO, ISSM, etc.
  • Strong understanding of business systems integration and digital transformation
  • Experience with cloud platforms, ERP systems, and SaaS applications
  • Ability to handle tough situations, resolving issues at the director level
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Salary range for this role is between $150,000 - $200,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
