Description:
The Director of Maintenance Control is responsible for management and supervision of daily maintenance control functions. This position ensures coordination with the appropriate SOC departments for the safe and tiely return-to-service actions for Company aircraft and Maintenance departments. The Director of Maintenance Control has direct reporting responsibility to the Senior Director Technical Operations for all regulatory requirements per [14 CFR 119.65; CFR 119.67]. The Director of Maintenance Control is responsible for all maintenance activities overseen and.or coordinated through the Maintenance Controllers for deferrals and/or assessments with on-call maintenance providers or with Mesa maintenance personnel at Mesa bases or out-stations. The Director of Maintenance Control must also be qualified to assume responsibilities as a delegate to the Senior Director of Technical Operations or Line Maintenance Director or Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering exercising responsibilities as a [14 CFR 119.65; 14 CFR 119.67] designee.
- Provides leadership, oversight, general direction, and prepares and delivers performance reviews to
the Maintenance Control management staff members.
- Develops plans for manpower utilization, staffing, scheduling, and training to meet Allegiant and FAA
standards.
- Ensures technical activities are coordinated with the SOC, Maintenance and Engineering departments
to ensure that they are handled in a safe and expeditious manner and in accordance with Mesa manual requirements and applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Monitors Minimum Equipment List (MEL)/Configuration Deviation List (CDL)/Non-Essential
Furnishings (NEF) use to ensure proper administration and ensure that deferrals are scheduled for
repair in a timely manner.
- Has responsibility for accurate display, tracking, and communication of recovery plans for all AOG
aircraft.
- Has the ability to assume responsibility of a Maintenance Control Manager to include performance of
duties as a Maintenance Controller.
- Develops and manages the department budget plan as needed to support the needs of the airline.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak to technical issues at all
levels of the Company.
- Conducts interviews and screens candidates for departmental openings as well as other Maintenance
and Engineering openings as requested by peer groups.
- Travels as required to other Mesa maintenance-staffed stations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Director Technical Operations
