Job Summary:

The Director of Major Programs oversees design and construction projects and executes strategic plans to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives. The Director of Major Programs will oversee and fulfill client contractual requirements. Develops and implements quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.

  • Monitor all technical aspects of projects and provide support for high-risk and complicated projects. This may include site visits as needed.
  • Maintain and find new clients by providing proposals and assigning new work to consultants. This also involves mentoring consultants and helping them publish papers and make presentations.
  • Develop, implement, and execute a strategic business plan for the division. This includes achieving assigned metrics related to employee hiring, development, retention, financial forecasts, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate and communicate at all levels of the organization to meet corporate and division goals. Work with the Executive Management Team to develop and implement plans for operational infrastructure, systems, processes, and personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and, when needed, international regulations, as well as company policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance leadership team. Attract, recruit, and retain required members of the leadership team. Foster a learning culture inclusive of career development paths to ensure a strong internal talent bench and agile workforce.
  • Create and implement processes and standard operating procedures


What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Five years of previous program director experience.
  • Previous Commercial and/or Institutional vertical and horizontal project design and engineering experience.
  • Previous experience writing and negotiating contracts.
  • Previous experience building and leading teams.
  • Previous procurement experience.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Exception written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive work site safety knowledge.
