Pay: $165,000-$195,000/year.

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Communications Director to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our corporate office in San Jose, CA and limited job-related travel may be required.

Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Director of Communications. This role's main function will be to oversee all communications involving the organization including the development and implementation of a communications strategy and a broad and diverse range of business communications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements a communications strategy and campaign(s) for the corporation that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand and reputation.
- Oversee corporate communications, content and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, ESG registries, award programs, and industry magazines.
- Oversee the development, content, tone, and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver message, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensure that all content is current and relevant.
- Provides consistent and timely information to employees through various communications programs, videos and newsletters.
- Acts as corporate spokesperson, is the primary media contact and responds to members of the media in a timely manner; composes and distributes press releases as needed.
- Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with various members of the media.
- Assists executive leadership and Environmental Outreach Team in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages.
- Provides suggestions concerning graphics, clarity, tone, distribution, and press releases for the preparation of reports.
- Develops, implements, and adheres to communications budget.
- Develops, composes, distributes, and implements policies for the communications department.
- Regularly strategize with Leadership Team in developing effective marketing and sales efforts to find end markets for Recovered and Landscape Materials.
- Collaborating with the Communications team and content marketing teams to produce quality advertising material for company products and services.
- Maintaining an accurate record of past campaign results to determine the most effective marketing approaches.
- Analyzing market trends, sales and marketing metrics, as well as pricing strategies to identify ways to improve sales and marketing efforts.
- Monitor and maintain current knowledge of industry regulatory changes that affect GreenWaste.
- Coordinate Scheduling, Attendance, and Budgets for Company Sponsorships, Lead Sources, Trade Associations, Conferences and Donations to ensure adherence to Annual Budget.
- Strategic advisor on communications related to high growth areas of the business.
- Champions communication strategies to stakeholders across various channels, audiences, and geographies.
- Manages external public relations and/or lobbying firms.
- Stays current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Humanities, Social Science, or related field. [Prefer Master's degree.]
- 12+ years of experience in communications, including in-house experience.
- 5+ years of experience in development of social media content.
- Valid Class C license
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English [Prefer additional proficiency in Spanish]
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
