Description:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Material Damage Claims Director to lead and transform our non-standard auto Material Damage unit. In this high-impact role, you will oversee daily operations, drive process improvements, and implement change initiatives that enhance claim accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience. You will lead a high-performing team, optimize workflows, and leverage data-driven strategies to improve business outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee field and in-house appraisal activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Direct Repair Program (DRP), building a strong repair network while optimizing utilization, quality, and performance.
  • Assess and expand drive-in appraisal locations, optimizing scheduling and staffing to enhance service accessibility.
  • Identify and integrate vendors and technology solutions to streamline direct repair, drive-in, and field appraisal operations.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics using estimating and salvage management systems (e.g., CCC, Copart) to drive continuous improvements.
  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams, including staff appraisers, desk appraisers, total loss specialists, and salvage coordinators, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Drive operational enhancements by refining workflows, processes, and best practices to optimize claims resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support senior leadership in achieving key business objectives, including cycle time reduction, claim accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and report on trends, identifying performance gaps and areas for strategic improvement.
  • Lead talent development efforts, including recruiting, training, mentoring, and performance management to build a strong, capable team.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in claim-handling practices.


Qualifications and Desired Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in auto material damage claims, with expertise in non-standard auto insurance.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience managing multi-functional claims teams.
  • Deep knowledge of personal lines and non-standard auto insurance, including claims policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of developing and leading material damage operations using a data-driven approach.
  • Experience in process re-engineering and project management to drive operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills, with expertise in coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to obtain a Texas, Florida and Oklahoma adjuster's license within 45 days of hire.
