Job Summary

Directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with system-wide goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements department goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates Materials Management operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, corrective actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Assists with the preparation and evaluation of department budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
  • Coordinates and directs internal and external audits.
  • Directs the signing of all contracts for Owensboro Health.
  • Responsible for supply chain budgeting and annual acquisitions of approximately $35 million in medical supplies, generating nearly $75 million in revenue.
  • Leads negotiations of purchases of all high-technology capital equipment.
  • Prices all items purchased for Owensboro Health including clinics and outside entities corporate wide.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience required
  • No licensure/certification/registration required
