TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 240-Day Contract

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid West Virginia School Administrator's Certificate or a West Virginia Vocational Administrator's Certificate
  • Qualifications as outlined in West Virginia Code 18A-4-7a.
  • Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the WV Board of Education in minimum standards for the Licensure of WV Vocational School Personnel.
  • Good evaluations and/or recommendations from professional associates, employers, and/or supervisors.
  • Exhibits knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the position and demonstrates the ability to perform these duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, parents, representatives of business and industry and administrative council members.
  • Educational philosophy comparable with the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center philosophy.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire employees and students.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as secretary to the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center Administrative Council and provides progressive administrative leadership.
  • Directs instructional program planning, development and evaluation, and submits proposals for modification or change to the Administrative Council in a timely fashion.
  • Submits recommendations for hiring new personnel to the Administrative Council.
  • Provides instructional leadership and support to the staff and students of Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center.
  • Manages professional, service, and pupil personnel in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Develops and administers an efficient program of facility utilization, maintenance, and improvement.
  • Analyzes, prepares, and presents financial data which reflects cost-effective provisions for the needs of Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center and efficient management of resources.
  • Prepares short term and long-range goals and objectives for the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center which reflects intentions of administration, programmatic needs, and personnel needs.
  • Provides the initiative, creativity, enthusiasm, and decisiveness needed for progressive development of Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center.
  • Maintains professional work habits.
  • Maintains and upgrades his/her professional skills.
  • Promotes and maintains school-community relationship.
  • Evaluates all staff in a timely manner as specified in West Virginia Code.
  • Performs all duties as specified in state policy and required by the Administrative Council.
