Director of Network and AV
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of IT Network and AV to lead and manage the entire networking and audiovisual infrastructure across fall our locations. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless, high-performance network and AV services, supporting and enabling the cutting-edge work of our biotech startups.

Director of Network and AV
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of IT Network and AV to lead and manage the entire networking and audiovisual infrastructure across fall our locations. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless, high-performance network and AV services, supporting and enabling the cutting-edge work of our biotech startups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Stay on the forefront of network technologies specifically in the areas of VPN, firewalls, virtual segregation, remote management, performance, redundancy and site-to-site connectivity.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for management, monitoring, maintenance and oversight of our networks and AV infrastructure across all locations.
- Implement KPIs to measure and improve service performance.
- Collaborate and work as one team with our IT operations and core platform staff
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at our head office and portfolio companies, and with our vendors.
- Network Management:
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of network services.
- Proactively identify and resolve network issues and implement improvements.
- Manage relationships with the managed service provider, and circuit providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and performance with redundancy.
- Monitor and oversee network operations across all Flagship locations (15 in Cambridge, MA, 2 in Europe, 1 in Asia)
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of robust network solutions for new locations as needs arise
- AV Management:
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of audiovisual systems across all sites.
- Ensure the AV systems meet the high standards required by our key stakeholders, providing especially exceptional service reliability during key board meetings, events, and in facilities provided to senior executives.
- Manage relationships with the AV service providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and performance.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage network and AV projects, from planning through execution to completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure all network and AV systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Implement security measures to protect against data breaches and other cyber threats.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT network and AV management.
- Proven experience in leading and managing operations working with vendor partners.
- Extensive knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and security.
- Strong understanding of AV systems and technologies.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and partners.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CTS) are a plus.
