Job Title: Director of Nursing Long Term Care
Job Specialty: Long Term Care, Skilled Unit

Shift: Primarily weekdays, evenings & weekends as needed, on-call as required
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Registered Nurse required
License: Registered Nurse licensure required, must be unencumbered
Certifications: Active BLS required
Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, long-term care experience as a Director of Nursing, leadership skills in an LTC setting
Job Description:
- Provides care and services in a safe and efficient manner.
- Formulates and works within an annual budget; recruits, hires, and staffs work area accurately.
- Acquires resources and ensures quality performance in line with regulations and laws.
- Participates in nursing home survey processes; writes and carries out plans of correction.
- Leads management and monitoring/auditing of the EMR in the location.
- Keeps abreast of new programs or practices and implements them appropriately.
- Accepts accountability for activities under direct control; plans and organizes departmental work.
- Promotes cooperative working relationships within and between departments.
- Assures a comprehensive nursing assessment of all residents is completed and care plans are formulated and evaluated.
- Manages and reports concerns related to resident rights, neglect, or abuse.
- Ensures accurate records for each resident and appropriate training for staff.
- Participates in location care conferences, special events, and task forces.
- Explains procedures to residents and maintains resident-centered interactions.
- Ensures adherence to antibiotic stewardship plans.
- Completes supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
