Surfpoint Recovery is looking for a Director of Nursing to bolster the Nursing department in excellent, thoughtful care for our patients. The Director of Nursing coordinates nursing services with those of the medical and administrative systems. The Director of Nursing is a member of the management team, overseeing planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making with attention to the role, functions, and operations of the facilities nursing services. The position is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and overseeing nursing operations, patient care, resource management, and fiscal management.

The Director of Nursing is a member of the management team, overseeing planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making with attention to the role, functions, and operations of the facilities nursing services. The position is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and overseeing nursing operations, patient care, resource management, and fiscal management.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the 24-hour management of the Nursing Department and assuring that the daily tasks of the Nursing Department are carried out in accordance with facilities policies in compliance with State, Federal Regulations, and JCAHO and CARF Accreditation Standards.
- Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice in the facility
- Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development.
- Orients all new nursing personnel on the shift.
- Arrange staffing per shift
- Create an objective, time specific, correction plan that the employee can understand and follow.
- Collaborates with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
- Monitor and evaluate all nursing activities including staff development, risk and safety management, compliance with regulatory standards, policy and procedure development/implementation and performance improvement activities.
- Plans, develops, and implements a budget process for staffing.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from qualified nursing school
- Current State of NY License
- Registered Nurse in the state of NY
- Current basic life support for health provider (BLS) and CPR
- Knowledge of Substance Abuse Treatment
- Four (4) years of experience working in substance abuse treatment
