Typical Duties

Industry Outreach and Engagement (40%)
  • Serve as the department's first point of contact for industry partners seeking engagement.
  • Track and report industry trends.
  • Develop and implement strategy for promotion of industry news on social media and other appropriate channels.
  • Manage communications contractor in execution of bi-annual department newsletter and other promotional materials.
  • Identify department-associated nominees and lead the submission process for industry awards and recognition.
  • Assist with identifying and procuring new residency placement opportunities.

Event Management (30%)
  • Lead planning and execution of department events including endowed lectureships, alumni reunion receptions, and others as needed; identify and lead communication with prospective speakers.
  • Represent the department at key industry events including conferences and receptions; lead coordination of ancillary alumni events at conferences.
  • Serve as the department point of contact for student-led annual golf tournament.
    Identify new opportunities for industry engagement and lead department involvement in same.

Academic Program Support (30%)
  • Lead planning and execution of annual KMU academic partnership.
  • Coordinate annual eMBA program with VCU School of Business.
  • Serve on admissions committee(s); participate in admissions interviews.
  • Conduct residency site visits; capitalize on associated opportunities for industry engagement.
  • Support Director of Career and Admin. Services in connecting students with mentors, employment opportunities.
  • Serve on college and department committees as appropriate.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 10+ years of related industry or outreach experience.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to connect authentically with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent independent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to multitask, be resourceful and creative, and show individual initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in Health Administration.
  • Previous work experience with industry relations/workforce development.
