Director of Parts

Job Summary: As the Director leading the daily execution of NCS's Parts business, you will be responsible for enabling Part Order fulfillment across the entire NCS network of distribution centers by ensuring 1) stock items availability, namely at the Parts Hub in Flower Mound, TX, 2) same-day turnaround on non-stock/drop-ship items, and 3) best in class customer service.

You will lead two existing remote teams, one of Buyer / Planners and one of Customer Service agents, while being expected to routinely coordinate with the multiple NCS Manufacturing and Distribution locations across the US and Canada, as well as the Product Management, Supplier Management, Service and Finance organizations.

You will be required to create, maintain and share financial and operational reports on weekly/monthly revenue goal attainment, SKU in-stock levels, open PO backlog, working capital metrics, and customer satisfaction metrics. Furthermore, you will be required to actively support new product launch initiatives, as well as cost-out and working capital optimization.

Successful candidates are proven team leaders in the Aftermarket Parts space working in a matrixed B2B environment, commanding excellent analytical and communication skills (both verbal and in writing), a very high level of attention to detail, and the ability to react and multitask in a fast-paced and ever-changing business environment.

Job Duties:

• Analyze sales/usage trends and develop inventory replenishment strategies required to maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with company-defined goals, while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure same-day turnaround on non-stock/drop-ship items, placing Purchase Orders (for both stocking and non-stocking SKUs) to augment the team whenever needed.
• Escalate all issues pertaining to supplier performance (Cost, Quality, and Availability) to the Manufacturing and Supplier Management leadership teams.
• Identify process improvement opportunities in Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Management, and participate in the implementation of best practices, tools and systems to streamline operations and drive efficiency improvements.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, while addressing customer inquiries and complaints promptly, professionally and effectively.
• Develop, motivate and performance manage two groups of remote team members.
• Collaborate on eCommerce and New Product initiatives, as well as on Customer and SKU profitability reviews, providing input on Pricing strategies when needed.

What You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' progressive leadership experience, preferably in a $10M+ Parts business for an OEM or a Distributor in the Car Wash, Automotive, HVAC or adjacent industrial goods and services B2B spaces.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles, namely Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory Management.
• Proven understanding of Customer Service principles and a passion for creating seamless and consistently positive customer experiences.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with superior attention to detail and the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make informed decisions.
• Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with experience in successfully collaborating cross-functionally.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate teams, bringing to work a proactive, positive, resourceful and efficient attitude on a daily basis.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Understands the work is only truly done when all orders and questions for that day have been reviewed and addressed.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in relevant software and technology, namely:
  • Oracle NetSuite (preferred) or similar ERPs
  • MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), namely in analyzing and manipulating data
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on additional responsibilities (as needed).
• Perform the responsibilities of the position at a satisfactory performance level.
• Ability to travel up to 10% (as needed).
