POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a full-time Director of Patient Care Services(DPCS) for our hospice program, servicing the Greater Los Angeles areas and adjoiningcommunities. The DPCS is a full-timeexecutive leadership position with overall clinical management responsibilityof the hospice program. The DPCS isresponsible for the overall successful delivery of care to patients andfamilies and serves as the conduit between the Administrator, clinical staff,patients, families and members of the community.
The DPCS supervises the clinical staff, including team mangers,contracted services, On-Call and continuous care staff and assists in thehiring and retention of staff. The DPCS contributesto and implements a Qualify Assurance program, participates in staff training, assuresqualified clinical staff is hired and assures only eligible patients areadmitted to the program and receive hospice care. DPCS assumes lead responsibility for patientadvocacy and carries out the organizations mission, goals, objectives andpolicies.
Must be able to utilize computers and be comfortable with electronicmedical records. Must possess excellentcommunication and leadership skills. DPCSserves as a role model to staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing or another health-related field.
- Current California RN license. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing preferred.
- Five years work experience, with at least three years in a hospice or home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility with at least one year of which was in the supervisory or administrative capacity.
- Demonstrate high level of competency in performance of professional nursing functions.
- Ability to plan, organize, delegate and manage effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to make effective decisions under time pressure.
- Ability to supervise and evaluate staff.
- Knowledge of regulatory aspects of hospice.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and personable skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with staff, members of the public, patients and families, as well as ability to direct others.
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, reliable/well maintained transportation.
- Able to utilize computers and be comfortable with electronic medical and other records.
