We are looking for a Director of Payroll, Benefits and HRIS to join our Human Resources team in Montreal and who will share our Company values.

What You'll Be Contributing:

  • Payroll Management
    • Lead accurate and timely payroll processing across Canada and the U.S., ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and state regulations (CRA, IRS, etc.).
    • Manage year-end reporting (T4s, W-2s, 1099s) and payroll audits.
    • Develop and enforce payroll policies and procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
    • Oversee vendor relationship with UKG and ensure effective payroll service delivery.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Design, implement, and manage competitive employee benefits programs in Canada and the U.S. (health, retirement, wellness, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance with regulations (ACA, EI, CPP/QPP) and lead annual open enrollment.
    • Collaborate with brokers and vendors to evaluate and negotiate benefits offerings.
    • Resolve complex employee benefits inquiries and escalations.
  • HRIS Management
    • Manage the HRIS platform to support data accuracy, reporting, and system optimization.
    • Ensure integration across payroll and benefits systems.
    • Lead system enhancements and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead and develop a high-performing team across payroll, benefits, and HRIS functions.
    • Establish KPIs, identify process improvements, and ensure alignment with business goals.
    • Collaborate with Finance to support reporting, audits, and general ledger integration.
    • Stay abreast of evolving Canadian and U.S. regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.


What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
  • 7-10 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management, including multi-jurisdictional experience in Canada and the U.S.;
  • Experience with cross-border benefits management is strongly preferred;
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll systems. Knowledge of UKG is an asset;
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in both countries;
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire a team;
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
