We're looking for a Director of People Operations to join our leadership team and take charge of designing and delivering modern, practical HR solutions to our growing client base. This is a strategic and hands-on role-ideal for someone who can lead with confidence, build from scratch, and execute without needing step-by-step direction.
The majority of your focus will be on helping our clients implement best-in-class people practices that support growth and retention. You'll also support our internal managers, helping them build strong teams and a thriving culture within Numbercrunch.

What You'll Own:
Client-Facing Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of People Operations services for our clients-primarily growing, privately held Canadian companies. This includes:
Building and implementing hiring, onboarding, and payroll SOPs
Conducting compensation reviews and benchmarking
Designing and managing employee benefits programs
Developing performance management frameworks
Driving recruitment and retention strategies
Leading BambooHR implementation and optimization
Overseeing ESOP programs and employee equity communications
Acting as a DEI leader, embedding inclusive practices in client organizations

Internal Focus:
Coaching and supporting Numbercrunch's internal managers in leading their teams with
confidence and consistency
Contributing to our own People strategy as we grow our team and culture

Who You Are:
- A senior HR leader with 12+ years of progressive experience as both an in-house
generalist and external consultant, delivering HR strategy, operations, and systems
support in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
- Proven track record of building and scaling HR infrastructure from the ground up,
aligning people strategies with business goals
- Highly resourceful and proactive adept at identifying gaps and implementing impactful solutions with minimal oversight
- Trusted advisor to executives and business owners, with strong relationship management skills and executive presence
- Deep expertise in HR technologies, including leading end-to-end implementations of platforms such as BambooHR
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment standards, total rewards, benefits, and equity programs
- Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience leading company-wide,people-first initiatives
- Skilled communicator, coach, and cross-functional collaborator who builds trust and drives outcomes.

We offer a competitive total compensation package, including base salary, performance
incentives, benefits, and RRSP participation.

This job requires you to come into our lovely Kanata office four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and on Fridays you get to work from home! Our working hours are 9-5 (no overtime is expected!)
