The Director of Practice Management (DPM) will be responsible for managing the clinical leadership teams at Dental Associates. They will establish objectives and goals within their assigned clinics and service lines which align with the annual strategic plan. The DPM will provide leadership regarding operations, staffing, human resources, patient experience, safety, and compliance.
Complete and maintain compliance with required training and education required for the position. Attend community education events/seminars to continue developing expertise in the field and improve important professional relationships. Participate in appropriate team meetings, assigned committees, service lines, and other continuing education/training.

Responsibilities
The Director of Practice Management (DPM) will be responsible for managing the clinical leadership teams at Dental Associates. They will establish objectives and goals within their assigned clinics and service lines which align with the annual strategic plan. The DPM will provide leadership regarding operations, staffing, human resources, patient experience, safety, and compliance.
- Operational Management
- Lead Practice Managers in maintaining a high performing clinic as defined and measured by metrics developed by the leadership team in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Work with Chief of Operations to build purposeful reports, analyze resulting data, identify inefficiencies, and implement new procedures for clinic improvement.
- Directly involved in providing oversight, direction, and access to resources to facilitate operations projects from inception through completion and ongoing monitoring.
- Work closely with clinical leadership and managers to ensure that business practices in our clinics are structured in a way that support the success of our standard works.
- Responsible for ensuring that our clinics and staff our being managed in compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and patient confidentiality standards.
- Responsible for creating individual performance goals for Practice Managers that are aligned to the strategic plan and annual objectives, based on the specific needs of the clinic, staff and patients at each clinic location.
- Implements and provides professional development opportunities, ongoing coaching, and training that the Practice Managers need in order to meet the expectations of their role.
- Participate in preparation and monitoring of rolling budget and development of the Annual Plan.
- Oversee the complaint resolution process at each location, identify trends, and purpose, collaborates to ensure proactive solutions.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of all operational initiatives that are implemented at the clinic(s).
- Demonstrate genuine interest in the health and well-being of the organization and our staff, patients, and communities.
- Take an active role in recruiting and retaining the best team members, investing in their success by not just monitoring their performance, but providing coaching and opportunities to grow, having conversations regarding job satisfaction and building methods of recognizing their good work.
- Assist direct reports with maintaining conformity to Dental Associates policies and procedures, compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and industry specific regulatory bodies (ADA), in addition to, contractual requirements, including participation in survey and reporting activities.
- Coordination and Communication
- Maintains active communication and good working relationships with all referral sources and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively and interactively with clinical leadership to ensure quality of services and care.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Dental Associates staff, doctors, and management team members.
- Convene leadership and doctor meetings.
- Professional Development
Position Details
- This position oversees our Central Region comprised of four clinics in the following cities: Wauwatosa, Waukesha, West Milwaukee and Fond du Lac.
- This is an in-clinic position with roughly a day per week for each location.
- The schedule is Monday-Friday with Saturdays as needed, 40 hours per week. General availability between 7am-6pm is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of practice management experience in a clinical or primary care setting or a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of practice management experience.
- Ability to meet or exceed metrics that have been established for this organizational level or position within Dental Associates.
- Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly confidential information with professionalism.
- Demonstrate respect for patient confidentiality practices.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- Must have excellent supervisory skills and exceptional soft skills, such as relationship-building, communications, listening, negotiation, and diplomacy.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication, leadership, problem solving and teambuilding skills.
- Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills and be flexible.
- Ability to conceptualize from a systematic perspective.
- Actively participates in performance management and coaching.
- Must possess the ability to learn and/or operate relevant operating system environments, and the ability to operate a variety of office equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
- Show appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences and adjust communication practices accordingly to minimize cross-cultural misunderstandings.
- Exercise due diligence to prevent, detect, and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, doctors, or professional affiliates.
- Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization.
- Must have reliable transportation to oversee several clinics and/or attend training/meetings.
