The Director of Pricing is responsible for developing and overseeing the pricing strategy for products and services to ensure that the company's pricing decisions are data-driven, competitive, compliant with local, state and federal regulations, and aligned with the organizations' objectives. This crucial role reviews market trends, customer behavior, competitor pricing, and collaborates with cross functional leadership teams to implement pricing models that align with business objectives. This position is accountable for leading and directing cross-functional teams, developing their department leaders by mentoring, coaching, and delivering performance feedback relevant to the organization's business objectives to establish a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Essential Functions:
- Prepare detailed pricing proposals in response to government solicitations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with customer requirements
- Draft and/or contribute to pricing/cost narratives to explain assumptions, dependencies and methodologies for deriving pricing proposals
- Develop pricing strategies ("price to win") navigating most favored customer requirements, market/customer penetration pricing, price normalization, Service Contract Act pricing, forward pricing to reflect future market conditions, etc
- Conduct proactive competitive analysis with resulting discovery, validation, confirmation and prediction of competitor pricing
- Evaluate financial records associated with the proposed pricing and provide forward pricing based on actual expenses from financial reports
- Ensure compliance with government pricing regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) guidelines, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Perform analysis of costs and associated data for proposals ensuring compliance with all DCAA requirements
- Conduct full compliance reviews to ensure cost volumes adhere to solicitation requirements
- Utilize cost estimation tools and models to forecast project costs accurately and support decision-making processes
- Develop cost/pricing models for all phases of the proposal process from proposal strategy through negotiations and execution
- Develop sanitized and un-sanitized cost/pricing narratives/volumes of proposals
- Build pricing solutions using technical Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and incorporate appropriate cost information in accordance with the organization's financial constraints and other best estimating practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies that align with the overall business objectives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in pricing methodologies, tools, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
- Working knowledge to support cost/price proposals (e.g., evaluating and understanding RFPs, developing cost/price models and narratives, summarizing financials, supporting strategic discussions related to price with executive leadership)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex pricing concepts to internal and external stakeholders
- Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to work in a quick and efficient manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work flexible hours in a 24/7/365 business environment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, or related field; or any equivalent combination of relevant education, skills, training, and experience
- Ten plus years' experience developing pricing for various contract types with financial analysis, understanding P&Ls and financial reporting; working in the Government contracting environment in a resource and cost estimating capacity
- Five plus years in a leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of federal procurement regulations, including FAR, DCAA guidelines, and CAS
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a motor vehicle record check and employer and government (eQip or eApp) background checks after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
