We have an exciting career opportunity at KAG Canada for an analytical, results driven and enthusiastic leader to join our team as Director of Pricing!
- Preparation and Completion of Tenders
- Prepare and complete tenders with accuracy including profitability and return on capital analysis. Key components include routing, kilometers, and volumes.
- Manage Fuel Surcharge programs by monitoring fuel pricing and completing fuel surcharge calculations by customer (advise customers of changes monthly and update rates accordingly).
- Perform profitability and lane analysis on contracts, customers, and product lines.
- Complete market research by region and product line to ensure rates and pricing is accurate.
- Streamline tender to submission process and customer management process.
- Customer Relations
- Respond to general customer inquiries regarding rates, extra charges and waiting times.
- Determine nature of customer concerns and resolve concerns timely.
- Manage all customer contracts including tracking expiries and managing rate changes.
- Work closely with Business Development and Leadership teams to ensure clear communication on customer needs and contract terms.
- Troubleshooting / Extraordinary Bills of Lading
- Prepare bills of lading for manual billing and review for missing information to ensure timely and accurate submission of customer billing.
- Investigate bills of lading by examining extra kilometers, diversions, etc.
- Where required, support the Accounts Receivable group to ensure timely collection of accounts.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in business, commerce, accounting, finance or logistics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with contracts and performing analysis, along with previous leadership and transportation industry experience.
- Ability to supervise and communicate effectively to assist in training of staff and communication with customers.
- Competencies: Time management, communication, organization skills, problem solving, project management, high attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Business Acumen: Understands the components that make up the business costs and applies the knowledge to various rate models.
- Must be proficient in Excel.
