To learn more about Schwan's, visit www.schwanscompany.com. What we are looking for: We are hiring a Director of Product Development to support our R&D and FSQ Team in our Bloomington, MN location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all tasks related to synergy projects between Schwan's USA and CJCJ and coordinating new product development focused on Asian cuisine category by leveraging R&D resources in Schwan's USA and CJCJ, in order to improve competitiveness of flavor/taste and quality by exchanging R&D technology. What we need from you:
- Manage development of frozen food such as Asian dumplings & snacks, and processed meat products design such as ingredients, recipe development, process design and cost savings, and find the innovative items for the future growth;
- Manage and support the research and develop work for the Asian processed foods by leveraging the all R&D resources in US;
- Manage, communicate and facilitate synergy projects between the company and foreign headquarter R&D globally;
- Manage and support the Technology Synergy projects between the company and foreign headquarter to lead the US Foods Business growth by technology exchange in R&D;
- Manage and support the Process Synergy projects regarding the Stage Gate Process improvement in all R&D organization in US by leveraging Schwan's and CJ's NPD process;
- Facilitate & coordinate Synergy Projects team in each subsidiary in US for each project to execute and achieve the goal within the recorded time;
- Participate in all synergy project teams to support the continuous collaboration and communication;
- Responsible to ensure subordinates conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct; and
- Manage product development for food service and retail by planning short-term and long-term projects, hiring R&D professionals, instructing subordinates to survey food markets and competitor products, devising plans for commercialization, and researching new food categories and possibility of innovative product items.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor or foreign equivalent degree in Food Engineering or a related field
Years of Related Experience: - 7 years of experience in planning and managing new product development, including frozen food products, food development processes, cost reduction strategies, and manufacturing procedures within a frozen foods manufacturer.
Education: Master's degree or equivalent
Years of Related Experience: 12 + years related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc; advanced communicationand interpersonal skills including being able to present technical ideas and solutions and write technical reportsand project proposals; advanced working knowledge of R& D product development flow from conception to product launchand organization; technical knowledge in various product platforms or categories including ingredients, processingtechniques, and equipment; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, andrecommend solutions; ability to develop and work with budgets; ability to taste and ingest any type of food productcurrently under development.
