SUMMARY

Under the direction of Sr. Director of Product Management and Engineering, the Director of Product Management will lead and manage all facets of the Product Management and Engineering group. This role is a leadership role that is the local "expert" on the product segment and supports all field activities as well as product plans and needs for the construction segment. The role also ensures the Product Management and Engineering group supports the dealers and customers and communicates product development needs back to HCM. Drives requests and answers questions related to current and future product needs.

DUTIES
  • Manage the Product Managers, Application Managers and CFT Manager as assigned.
  • Develop and manage the product offering and future requests for HCMA based on feedback from HCMA staff, dealers and end-users.
  • Develop and provide oversite for the US and Canada federal and local regulation/standards monitoring in coordination with the sales and aftersales organizations.
  • Lead the pricing analysis and product offering pages that align with the companies objectives.
  • Lead participation and support for trade shows and media interviews as requested.
  • Lead the development and management of brochures, handbooks, competitive specifications development assistance and Bid Specifications
  • Develop and nurture the dealer network marketing activities to support and align with the company's strategies and activities. This includes monitoring the US & Canada for pending health and safety regulations changes (OSHA, MSHA, CCOHS, etc.) and the US & Canada engine emission standard changes (CARB, EPA, Transport Canada, etc.)
  • Lead the local option and feature request list for the US and Canada specific market in regards to:
    • Develop market specific options/features based on HCMA Marketing, Product Support, dealers and end-user demand.
    • Supporting option price list inclusion
  • Assist Product Support section to develop field installation instructions, OMM, parts catalog or bulletin documentation for local option support.
  • Manage and provide new configuration and pricing data to Sales Admin for products and parts
  • Support HCM competitive evaluations
    • Major Competitor's new product evaluations (CAT, JD, Volvo, etc.)
    • Job site performance testing
    • Operator surveys
  • Support HCM Clinic Tests and Prototype evaluations
    • Design features and performance evaluation
    • Job site testing with previous generation and/or competitors model
    • VOC/VOD surveys
  • Support attachment type and sizing assistance
  • Personnel management as assigned
  • Product strategy and competitive positioning
  • Product segment sales and market share
  • Product Management activities and tools
  • Pricing and Margin expectations
  • Supporting sales process of both whole goods through the dealer network
REQUIREMENTS
  • Education
    • (Minimum) Bachelors degree in sales or marketing or equivalent experience
    • Extensive industry/ sales management experience and knowledge may be considered in lieu of degree requirements in exceptional circumstances
  • Knowledge
    • (Minimum) 3-5 years practical working experience in product management or equipment industry
    • (Preferred) 10 years practical working experience in product management or equipment industry
