The Institute hosts more than 200 events each year, with our annual flagship event, Global Conference, bringing together 4,500+ participants from around the world, featuring more than 900+ speakers throughout 200+ sessions over the course of the event.

About the Position

The Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream is looking for a production leader to assemble and cultivate a team which will create assets, produce live shows, and fabricate long and short format episodes for broadcast and streaming purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously with event producers and Studio Director to scope, bid, pitch/treat, and crew jobs
  • Able to function as on-site subject matter expert to provide insights and rigor to MCAAD event, production, and creative teams
  • Experience across the production lifecycle from in-camera capture to multi-channel deployment
  • Expertise in postproduction, motion design, animation and VFX; and the crew resources needed to bid and execute across those disciplines; strong understanding of physical production
  • Prepare bid s and oversee execute ion of productions within the studio
  • Manage a team made up of editors, VFX artists, Motion design, and production support; DP /photographers
  • Work to set up rates (internal and external); bidding guidelines and SOPs for artists and maker teams within the studio
  • Work with agency producer, legal and business teams to secure usage rights, assess risk, and clear work for distribution. For example, execute production releases, talent releases, license library music.
  • Clearly communicate project status with stakeholders regularly
  • Ongoing review of Studio processes and practices with an eye toward enhancing and increasing effectiveness
  • Put repeatable processes in place that help the team plan, manage multiple parallel projects, and run our business
  • Mentor the teams, help ensure smooth operations, a friendly and calm workspace for our teams to be inspired; and a studio experience that leaves our clients and partner s wanting more
  • Duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 8 + years of experience as a producer with production - company side experience in video/motion, print, digital/experiential, social and advertising
  • 4 + years of experience leading project delivery for large, cross functional, projects
  • Experience with content creators, influencers; and influencer agencies
  • Extensive contacts in photography, video and post (VFX, animation, design) industries
  • An online portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating great solutions across a range of production-related issues
  • Background working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly within Live and postproduction environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent understanding of photo, video, and animation work production company work pipelines
  • Able to identify and mitigate risk on projects
  • Bachelor's degree or 8 + years of equivalent professional experience

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

This position will work in a professional office environment on a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to the Washington, DC office location (Tuesday - Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand, this schedule is subject to change at the Institute's sole discretion.

This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.
