Job Description
The Director, Professional Development's duties include but are not limited to:
Own and oversee a current portfolio of initiatives (microlearning, institutes, workshops, webinars, etc.) to maintain project timelines, excellence in delivery, and continue quality improvement.
Identify opportunities for new program development with regional, national and international partners such as corporations, health care systems and large employers of health professionals, government entities, professional associations, schools and other higher education institutions.
Utilize expertise in eLearning development to support the entire development lifecycle, from conceptualization and story boarding through enduring quality improvement review.
Lead ANCC NCPD Accredited Provider program and ensure strict adherence to all standards.
Collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, driving change initiatives and ensuring clear communication and expectations.
Represent VUSN internally and externally in support of all major entrepreneurial activities and strategic partnerships.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Conduct market analyses and work with existing partners to assess appropriate non- credit course offerings to be developed and offered.
Manage departmental strategy, explore new opportunities, and manage pricing models to ensure profitability of professional development offerings.
Work closely with VUSN faculty, offices, and Course Design & Development (D3) team to create courses, certificates and programs to enhance VUSN's overall Professional Development portfolio.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned in support of VUSN.
Supervisory Relationships:
Direct supervision of Program Manager, Professional Development.
Education and Certifications:
Master's degree required (any subject)
BSN and current RN license preferred
Experience and Skills:
5+ years of previous experience in a similar role
Experience in eLearning development with knowledge of current best practices in adult asynchronous learning
Experience in sales, marketing, and/or project management
Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and experience creating and editing documents, including complex proposals and justifications
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
Strong track record of planning, organizing, and managing concurrent projects, events and complex activities from ideation through execution
Leadership skills and ability to effectively work with others at all levels across an organization and beyond
Creative and innovative with entrepreneurial skills & knowledge
"Executive presence" and experience presenting to leadership, preferably in and academic and/or healthcare setting, and a variety of other constituencies
