Position Overview
The position of Director, Program Management will be responsible for overall execution of a portfolio of programs within the organization. This role requires strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills. Responsibilities will include the monitoring of program execution, financial forecasting, budgeting, monitoring of contractual compliance, and performance management of a group of program leaders. The Program Director is instrumental in developing strategies, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement across all assigned programs.

Position Overview

The Program Director is instrumental in developing strategies, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement across all assigned programs.
- Position is a salaried position and is exempt from overtime pay
- Position is eligible for performance-based incentives which will be described in the offer letter to the selected candidate
Primary Responsibilities
- Represents the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors, and government agencies
- Provides guidance and direction for a portfolio of programs, including Prime Contracts and Subcontracts
- Lead the planning, implementation, and tracking of programs from inception through completion, ensuring all objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Monitor contract funding allocations, expenditures, and staffing plans
- Responsible for maximizing revenue, profit, and growth for those contracts within their portfolio
- Manage and mentor program managers and team members, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and professional development.
- Support the Business Development team in the identification and qualification of new opportunities, capture management, customer and teammate engagements, and proposal development
- Support marketing and sales initiatives, to include Statement of Capabilities (SOC) briefings
- Coordinate with corporate leadership to provide guidance for standardized processes across all contracts
- Communicate with Executive Leadership to implement company goals, strategies, objectives, and tactics
- Works to implement process improvements to increase efficiency
- Identify potential risks or challenges within the programs and develop proactive solutions to mitigate them
- Lead efforts to create, identify, and respond to new opportunities for innovative projects and partnerships, with an emphasis on strategically increasing the Program's impact, sustainability, and visibility
- Identify key leaders, key strengths, gaps in the organization and create individual development plans for performance, succession planning, and high potential leaders
- Ensure all programs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and policies within the industry
Minimum Qualifications
- 10 years of DoD Industry related experience
- 5+ years of Program and/or Project Management experience
- 5+ years of People Management/Leadership experience
- Planning, scheduling, and strategizing program goals
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through change
- Ability to lead and collaborate positively in a team environment with people of different levels of experience and education and virtually in geographically dispersed locations
- Willingness to support business travel as needed up to 25%
- Fluent in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven success with process improvement, and ability to lead and manage complex programs across multiple functions.
- Experience managing program costs and schedules for DoD programs/projects including multiple types of contract types (i.e., cost-type, fixed price, T&M, etc.)
- Experience recruiting, retaining, and mentoring personnel
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven approach to decision-making
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies
- Experience communicating and working with Executive Leadership, internal and external to the organization
