We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Quality and Metrology to lead our global quality management systems, product compliance programs, and metrology initiatives. This critical leadership role will oversee quality assurance, quality control, analytical labs, and metrology functions across multiple manufacturing sites and R&D centers.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in the semiconductor materials industry, a strong understanding of ISO standards, IATF requirements, and a passion for driving zero-defect manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a global quality and metrology strategy aligned with corporate goals and semiconductor customer requirements.
Lead and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific standards.
Oversee analytical/metrology labs and ensure accuracy, traceability, and timely delivery of measurement data.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.
Manage supplier quality programs and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure raw material and component compliance.
Lead customer audits, internal audits, and regulatory inspections.
Build and mentor a high-performance quality and metrology team across sites.
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing to ensure Design for Quality and Process Qualification (PPAP, FMEA, etc.).
Serve as a key interface with semiconductor customers on quality metrics, returns, and performance reviews.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
PhD or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related technical field.
10+ years of progressive experience in quality, metrology, or operations within semiconductor materials, chemicals, or gas industries.
5+ years in a senior leadership or director-level quality role.
Deep knowledge of analytical instrumentation (e.g., GC, ICP-MS, FTIR) and metrology for gases and chemicals.
Experience with global QMS systems, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or equivalent.
Demonstrated success in leading quality transformations and customer-centric programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar.
Experience with cleanroom operations and contamination control in semiconductor fabs.
Familiarity with semiconductor supply chain quality standards (e.g., SEMI E10/E79, SPC reporting).
