Pye Barker's Director of Regional Collections will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to manage and optimize the company's debt collection processes across all regions. This role will ensure efficient collections, mitigate company credit risk, and improve Pye Barker's cash flow while maintaining strong customer and branch relationships. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in strategizing credit management, collections, leadership, and C-suite reporting.

Pye Barker's Director of Regional Collections will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to manage and optimize the company's debt collection processes across all regions. This role will ensure efficient collections, mitigate company credit risk, and improve Pye Barker's cash flow while maintaining strong customer and branch relationships. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in strategizing credit management, collections, leadership, and C-suite reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage regional collection teams, adopting a single approach across the organization, as well as alignment with company policies and goals.
- Develop and implement national collections strategies to improve recovery rates and reduce outstanding debts.
- Leverage technology to enhance automation and economies of scale.
- Monitor key collection performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, legal teams, and financial institutions.
- Develop training programs for collection teams to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide reporting to senior management on a weekly and monthly basis, outlining staff, branch, and divisional performance.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings to ensure staff remains motivated and fully aware of expectations.
- Acts as a point of escalation for Collections issues and/or disputes.
- Adopt a "no-to-low touch" dunning policy across the organization.
- Facilitates third parties in conducting skip-tracing according to established practices.
- Oversee the relationship with our third-party Collections agency.
- Initiates repossession steps when authorized; maintains thorough records of actions taken in repossession and selling.
- Reviews accounts and recommends charge-off as appropriate; supervises approved accounts charge-off procedure and reports it to credit reporting agencies.
- As necessary, reports claim to appropriate government agencies to ensure collection on insured loans.
- Ensures the security and privacy of customer information and files.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in collections, credit management, or financial risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of collection laws, credit risk management, and financial regulations.
- Proven experience in leading large teams and driving performance improvements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies that balance financial risk with customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and financial systems.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of applicable state and federal collection laws including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Previous experience in the fire, security and life safety service industry preferred.
