Position: Director of Revenue Management

Location: Responsible for Deerhurst Resort, Muskoka Bay Resort & Muskoka Bay Resort. Based out of Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, ON

Position Summary:

The Director of Revenue Management leads the revenue management strategy for the Freed Hotels & Resorts portfolio ensuring maximum profitability through effective pricing, inventory control, and revenue forecasting. This role also includes the oversight of the Central Reservations Call Centre to ensure efficient guest booking processes and alignment with revenue goals. This role is crucial in analyzing market trends, managing room rates, and optimizing sales channels to enhance revenue growth while maintaining guest satisfaction. As Director of Revenue Management, you'll analyze data, provide insights, and recommend strategies that align with our Resort brand proposition and company objectives. Your expertise will ensure that pricing and inventory strategies maximize profit while supporting our overall revenue goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Maximize net revenue through strategic pricing and a deep understanding of market segments and booking channels.
  • Create and implement dynamic pricing strategies based on market demand, competition analysis, and historical data.
  • Develop short- and long-term revenue management strategies that align with the hotel's business goals.
  • Monitor booking pace and hotel performance indicators to adjust pricing and availability controls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OTA partners to enhance hotel visibility and conversion.
  • Lead revenue forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning in collaboration with senior management.
  • Manage room rates and distribution channels to optimize pricing based on occupancy, seasonality, and competitor pricing.
  • Coordinate timing of large projects affecting blocks of inventory and project loss of revenue
  • Implement yield management techniques to maximize revenue from various booking channels (e.g., direct bookings, OTAs, corporate accounts).
  • Analyze market data, performance metrics, and guest behavior to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Generate regular performance reports and present actionable insights to Resort leadership.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room), ADR (Average Daily Rate), and occupancy rates.
  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure that pricing and inventory strategies are effectively communicated and executed.
  • Support the GM's at each location and executive team with strategic planning and financial forecasting.
  • Oversee the operations of the Central Reservations Call Centre to ensure efficient handling of bookings and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the call center management to align sales strategies with revenue management goals.
  • Monitor call center performance metrics such as call conversion rates, upselling effectiveness, and guest satisfaction.
  • In collaboration with the CRC Manager provide training and guidance to call center staff on revenue management principles, upselling techniques, and booking efficiency.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business, Finance, or related field. A master's degree or professional certification.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hotel revenue management, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in revenue management software.
  • Excellent understanding of market trends, demand forecasting, and pricing models.
  • Expertise in distribution channels and inventory management.
  • Proficient in Excel, data analysis, and business intelligence tools.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
