SUMMARY

The Director of Sales - Americas is a key sales leadership role responsible for designing and executing Sartori's business development plans across Canada and Latin America. This position focuses on profitably growing Sartori's premium branded retail line in major national retail chains across these export markets while also managing key private label business.

This position aggressively grows the distribution of Sartori-branded retail products with new and existing customers by developing strong promotional strategies to encourage trial and repeat purchases and identifying high-priority markets for future expansion. Success in this role hinges on building trust and fostering collaborative relationships with customers, local partners and Sartori teams. This position requires regular travel within Canada & Latin America with some weekend work and overnight stays; occasional travel within the United States is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Achieves sales targets by driving profitable revenue growth and expanding distribution through strategic sales calls and in-person meetings with buyers at new and existing accounts, collaborating with local partners as needed.
  • Identifies, prioritizes, and executes against the appropriate cadence of customer targets with a primary focus on Canada and Mexico, and secondary focus on Latin America markets.
  • Maximizes promotional budget to drive trial, increase repeat buy-rate, and support successful product launches to ensure items stick on shelf.
  • Maintains a strong level of trust with local partners to ensure reliable importing and distribution capabilities aligned growth strategies, while creating Sartori champions to support the growth of the Sartori brand throughout the export markets of the Americas.
  • Collaborates with Marketing to develop pricing strategies that enhance business profitability and maximize distribution potential, while accounting for currency fluctuations, tariffs, and import quotas.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve freight & production efficiencies for the Americas region products to support the continued health of the Retail Global business segment.
  • Recommends key projects and resource investments with strategic prioritization and timing to drive profitable growth in the Americas region, supporting strategic planning, budgeting, and tri-annual S&OP forecasting.
  • Develops a merchandising platform in Canada to expand distribution, enhance brand trial and awareness at both store and consumer levels, and ensure all existing and newly authorized products are well-stocked, accurately priced, and merchandised to meet brand and customer standards.
  • Utilizes Salesforce to manage forecasts & promotional activities, and bring internal visibility to new opportunities & customer requests

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or other related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales or cheese buying experience in the Canadian and/or Latin American dairy industry required
  • Fluency in both Spanish & English required
  • Experience in exports preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the business (50%)
  • Valid passport for travel is required
  • Valid driver's license required. Must maintain a clean driving record according to Sartori's fleet policy
