Position Overview:
Brainspring is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Sales and Marketing to lead the growth of our professional development and educational services nationwide. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both high-level strategizing and hands-on execution. The Director will be responsible for building and optimizing a comprehensive sales and marketing process that promotes Brainspring's Orton-Gillingham-based training programs and support services to schools, districts, and educators.
The successful candidate will develop and lead scalable sales processes, develop a system for cross-channel marketing campaigns and collaborate with peer departments to ensure alignment with our mission of improving literacy nationwide. This is a unique opportunity to expand Brainspring's impact by reaching new partners and deepening existing relationships with our educational community.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets or any other device necessary to meet the needs of the department.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.

Some travel will be required to support conferences, client visits, and other objectives for Brainspring.

Key Responsibilities:
Process Development & Execution
- Design and implement an integrated, data-driven sales and marketing system that supports long-term growth and customer engagement.
- Build and standardize workflows, lead funnels, reporting dashboards, and campaign automation to streamline operations.
- Develop performance metrics and establish a feedback loop for continuous improvement and optimization.
Sales Strategy & Leadership
- Define and lead Brainspring's sales strategy, including identification of target markets, segments, and partnership opportunities.
- Develop outreach strategies to increase adoption of Brainspring training, products, and services in schools, districts, and educational organizations.
- Build and develop a high-performing sales team; establish goals, track performance, and coach for success.
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Create and execute multichannel marketing strategies that generate leads, support product launches, and grow brand visibility.
- Lead content creation, campaign planning, and digital marketing efforts across email, social, SEO, and paid channels.
- Collaborate with our curriculum and instructional teams to ensure alignment in messaging, positioning, and customer experience.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to weekly, quarterly, and annual review and strategy sessions.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure consistency, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive the sales team utilizing Brainspring vision and core values.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in sales and marketing roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership role or similar capacity.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable sales and marketing processes.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills; experience with CRMs and marketing automation tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in education, publishing, edtech, or professional development preferred.
- Passion for literacy, education, and making a meaningful impact.
