The opportunity
The Director of Sales & Business Development plays a critical role in driving a company's growth and success by leading the sales effort. This position requires a combination of strategic planning, leadership, and hands-on execution. The DOS&BD utilizes a deep understanding of our company, products, processes, and capabilities together with the voice of the customer (VOC) to develop strategy and programs that effectively communicates the value proposition Server Products offers ultimately driving a high level of sales growth and customer satisfaction. A successful candidate in this role is highly skilled in collaboration and possesses the leadership skills necessary to lead, influence, and gain cross-functional support across all departments to achieve positive results. This person is comfortable in a fast and constantly changing environment and is a risk taker, agile, scrappy, resilient, and relentless in understanding the need to work on tight deadlines in a rapidly changing marketplace.

Responsibilities
- As a part of the Executive Staff, participates in planning/formulating the strategic direction and policies of the company while ensuring the company imperatives and strategic objectives are understood, embraced, and incorporated into the respective department teams and the plans they develop. Ultimately, becoming part of the department and personnel's business DNA.
- Develop fact-based business cases in support of department initiatives, capital expenditures, new product efforts, and other expenses related to the overall position responsibility
- Develop and implement comprehensive 12-to-24-month sales strategies to achieve company revenue and market share goals.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Leads, mentors, and manages the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on results and accountability.
- Provide coaching and support to team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and facilitating professional development.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts.
- Establishes sales targets and KPIs, regularly monitoring performance and reporting results to executive management.
- Utilize CRM tools and data analytics to track sales performance and forecast future sales trends.
- Collaborates with marketing, product development, and production teams to align sales initiatives with overall company goals.
- Provide feedback on product performance and customer preferences to inform product development and improvements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Develop and manage the sales department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet sales objectives.
- Creates fact-based pricing policies that support the company's market strategy and customer management goals. Collaborating with the company leadership, reviews, approves, and maintains all customer agreements.
- Creates strong business relationships with key stakeholders at strategic level with key customers like McDonalds, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, and Inspire Brands.
- Working cross-functionally, directs and manages all aspects of business development communication at the corporate level.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive business leadership experience in a team-based continuous improvement environment.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
- 8+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop robust strategy & execution plans.
- High level of planning & organization skills including follow-through and follow-up.
- Strong critical thinking ability, see beyond current state.
- Adaptability to change and ambiguity.
- Experience in developing and managing budgets.
