Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead business development for our Quantix Managed Solutions organization, with a core focus on outsourced managed transportation and Transportation Management System (TMS) solutions. This role requires a consultative approach to selling, a deep understanding of chemical supply chains, and experience positioning technology-enabled logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on securing outsourced managed transportation contracts with chemical manufacturers and distributors.
  • Promote and sell 4PL services, including freight management, mode optimization, carrier procurement, and performance analytics.
  • Lead discovery sessions with supply chain leaders to uncover pain points, including visibility gaps, service failures, siloed systems, or rising transportation costs.
  • Present the value of fully managed TMS-driven solutions, highlighting process automation, compliance, control tower visibility, and cost reduction.
  • Partner cross-functionally with implementation, technology, and operations teams to tailor offerings and ensure long-term customer success.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified prospects and consistently meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Stay current on DOT regulations, hazmat handling requirements, and trends impacting the chemical supply chain.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry forums, and client site visits.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience in 3PL/4PL logistics, ideally with chemical shippers.
  • Proven success in selling outsourced managed transportation solutions (TMS + services) to mid-sized and enterprise-level customers.
  • Knowledge of multimodal logistics including bulk tank, rail, intermodal, LTL/FTL, and international shipping.
  • Strong understanding of TMS platforms and their integration with broader logistics operations.
  • Ability to navigate complex buying cycles and influence senior supply chain decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and solution-selling skills.

Preferred:
  • Existing relationships within the chemical or specialty materials industries.
  • Familiarity with TMS platforms.
  • Experience selling into global or highly regulated logistics environments.
