Salary: Minimum Starting Salary of $100,000 per the GASA Contract (STLE Grant Funded)
Reports to: Deputy Superintendent of Schools

Effective Date: January 2, 2025
Work Year: 12 month position

Hours: Administrators and Supervisors are excpected to devote the necessary time and effort required to properly complete their assigned responsibilities. It is understood that such time and effort may exceed the limites of normal working hours.

Required Qualifications
  • Exceptional and experienced Principal with proven record of leading a school toward acceleration of academic goals and closing achievement gaps;
  • Demonstrated expertise in building a focused school culture and a responsive standards-based, rigorous instructional program with necessary student supports to remove barriers to learning;
  • Passion and commitment to do what it takes to raise the performance of all learners;
  • Knowledgeable about current district, state and national accountability needs;
  • A valid New York State administrative certificate (SDA/SDL) or be eligible for the same and at least five years of experience as a principal with a proven record of improving outcomes for high-need students; and turning around low performing schools.
  • Experience leading school transformation, and proven ability to inspire and guide teams through complex challenges to achieve positive outcomes for all students;
  • Outstanding strategic planning and problem-solving skills with an orientation toward results, action, impact and influence;
  • Demonstrated expertise in building a positive school culture and standards-based, rigorous, instructional program conducive to student learning and professional growth of staff;
  • Proven ability to share leadership and collaborate with students, staff, parents, community members and other stakeholders to drive student learning;
  • A broad background of educational experience in the areas of administration, supervision, teaching, and/or curriculum development;
  • An in-depth understanding of the development needs of school principals and experience coaching others to improve student achievement; and
  • An in-depth understanding of the New York State graduation requirements, graduation cohort tracking, and experience developing accompanying intervention systems.


Selection Criteria
  • A strong personal vision of the school as a center for academic excellence;
  • A strong and clear vision of what our schools need to accomplish excellence and how this should be done;
  • Evidence of personal preference for consensus-seeking leadership;
  • A detailed understanding and genuine enthusiasm with respect to site-based management that empowers teachers and solicits parent/community involvement;
  • Evidence of knowledge regarding the latest research in learning, teaching, and child development; and
  • Evidence of understanding and past leadership experience as it relates to instructional leadership, student leadership, partnership leadership, personnel leadership, resources leadership, and special needs leadership.

Essential Functions
  • Work with the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and District Curriculum and Instruction team to support school principals to close achievement gaps and raise performance for all students leading to improved grade level performance and on-time graduation;
  • Design and implement professional learning to support the strategies outlined in the Greece Strategic Plan and school improvement plans;
  • Employ an individualized coaching approach that supports building leaders in developing their skills and achieving their goals;
  • Serve as a thought partner to principals to engage in critical and targeted reflection to meet strategic plan identified benchmarks;
  • Assist secondary schools with monitoring progress towards 9th grade credit accrual targets;
  • Collaborate with high school principals on the implementation and monitoring of graduation cohorts and credit recovery and acceleration intervention systems;
  • Facilitate checkpoint and process meetings with principals and their SIT teams to review progress towards the lead and lag measures articulated in school improvement plans, as well as assist school steams with faithful implementation of the 4DX system for goal setting;
  • Oversight of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) processes, including facilitation of the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP), District Improvement Team, and building plans for any Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) or Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) identified schools;
  • Facilitate the district's Leadership Team and both plan and lead the district's Leadership meetings, including Principal Learning Networks (PLN), Leadership meetings and Data Dives;
  • Co-lead the district's PLC Guiding Coalition and assist with the planning and delivery of the PLC release days;
  • Facilitate the Greece Summer Leadership Academy Planning Team and act as the lead facilitator for Summer Leadership Academy;
  • Work to build system-wide understanding of the alignment among strategic initiatives;
  • Participate as a key member of Extended Cabinet; and
  • Serve on/chair other District committees, as assigned.
