POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Security oversees, administers and maintains operations to assure the safety of people, property, and assets in the school district. The Director recruits, trains, evaluates, and schedules security personnel. The Director creates and evaluates crisis preparedness plans and acts as a liaison between the district and outside entities.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in law enforcement, military, public safety, or security.
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of federal and state law as well as village ordinances
- Working skill in observing situations in an analytical, objective manner
- High standards of integrity, honesty and accuracy
- Strong people and process management skills
- Must possess a valid license to carry a firearm in a school
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate in English (speak/read/write)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information
- Knowledge in working with technical communications systems, programs and equipment during daily operations and emergency circumstances.
- Presents a professional image and interacts professionally with faculty, staff, students and community
