We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain to join our growing team.
Job Purpose Summary
As the Director of Supply Chain, you will oversee all inventories across multiple warehouse locations, assist the inventory team with daily functions as needed, and address quality concerns by communicating updates to correct discrepancies. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes. Additionally, you will manage vendor relationships from a purchasing and inventory perspective, collaborating closely with the business development, sales, and customer service teams.
Reporting Accountability: VP of Operations Excellence
Working Location: Waterloo, IA with hybrid opportunities available
Working Hours: Full-time, exempt - Monday-Friday with off hours and travel as needed to be successful

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and clearly communicate responsibilities to the team and address escalations quickly, providing leadership and resolution.
- Accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory and supply chain management.
- Perform metrics reporting and data analysis to identify issues and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.
- Manage external partner and vendor relationships, identifying key stakeholders and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Address vendor concerns promptly and analyze data to improve the overall supply chain.
- Oversee procurement and order management strategies, ensuring timely submission of purchase orders (POs).
- Proactively handle escalated communication on backordered items and establish recovery plans in partnership with vendor manufacturers.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships, monitor performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for daily inventory functions.
- Analyze internal capacity reports to maximize available space and make final decisions on product movement within warehouse locations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Plan warehouses and distribution centers for operational and capacity efficiency.
- Organize internal product transportation and coordinate the movement of goods through logistic pathways, ensuring quality throughout the process.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies, benchmarks, and SOPs.
- Perform slotting analysis and quarterly reviews of nonmoving items across all warehouses.
- Provide input to the procurement team to maximize inbound efficiencies.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field; MBA or master's preferred.
- 10+ years in supply chain management or logistics with knowledge of regulatory requirements and experience in risk management.
- Lean Six Sigma environment experience, Green Belt Certification preferred.
- Innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement with experience in data analysis and forecasting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Project management expertise and strategic planning abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent relationship-builder with verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking throughout the facility for extended periods of time in a variety of climates.
- Operation of warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision.
- Travel to warehouse locations could be required minimally.
