Job Summary
The Director of Supply Chain Informatics is responsible for defining and executing the overall strategy for Supply Chain information systems and technology. This includes overseeing Supply Chain data analytics, the planning, implementation, and optimization of all Supply Chain information systems such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and managing Supply Chain ERP modules. The Director will collaborate closely with Information Technology Services, the Chief Data Analytics Office, and other departments to enhance supply chain decision-making and operational efficiency through advanced reporting, AI-driven analytics, and interactive dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Systems Strategy, Implementation, and Ongoing Management
- Define and manage the strategy for Supply Chain systems including Purchasing, Inventory Management, Item Master, and potential future systems like Contracting and Strategic Sourcing.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of Supply Chain information systems, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and operational efficiency.
- Develop a roadmap that increases automation, optimizes systems, and explores new technologies in alignment with UTMB's operational and technical architecture.
- Strategy and Leadership
- Assist in developing a vision and strategy for supply chain technology, fostering continuous improvement and staying ahead of industry trends.
- Lead efforts to ensure cybersecurity compliance and research best practices to improve technology capacity for greater operational efficiency.
- Promote business process improvements that challenge existing practices and drive the transformation to a more agile integrated supply chain.
- Data Management and Analytics
- Utilize predictive analytics for demand forecasting, identifying disruptions, and optimizing inventory management.
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards to provide real-time insights into supply chain performance, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
- Lead data quality improvement initiatives and ensure the integrity and security of all data through effective governance and compliance.
- Strategic Implementation
- Identify and integrate emerging technologies and best practices to support long-term strategic goals.
- Ensure accurate and timely interface of Supply Chain systems with financial accounting systems.
- Develop and drive a data analytics strategy to support decision-making and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Participate in security reviews and audits to ensure compliance with data privacy standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead the development of disaster recovery plans for Supply Chain systems and ensure internal controls are followed.
- Oversee routine and ad hoc reporting, dashboards, and other analytics tools for decision-making.
- Perform additional duties as required to ensure smooth operational flow.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, business-related computer fields, or other related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology/computer-related fields or Supply Chain, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (preferably PeopleSoft), Inventory Management Systems, GHX, Tableau, SmartSheets, Power BI, and other relevant tools.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems.
- Familiarity with data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
- Proven leadership abilities in managing complex, technical teams with a focus on strategic impact.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Intellectual curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Previous experience in a health system environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake.
