Director of Systems Integration and Building Automation - Northern Virginia
In this position you will be responsible for advancing and promoting mechanical and electrical systems integration solutions for our clients. This includes staying abreast of cutting-edge developments in system types and implementations, advanced implementation that connect multiple disparate systems into a cohesive whole, maintaining a strong industry presence, building and establishing a strong internal controls team, and providing mentorship amongst our engineering and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Controls Implementation and Engineering Expertise: Lead design and implementation projects and initiatives with extensive experience in disparate BMS and EPMS systems, including:

o BAS/BMS control schemes

o EPMS control schemes

o Sequence of operations involving active and passive components, sensor inputs, resiliency/redundancy needs, and other relevant factors

o Recommending solutions to various discipline designers to create optimal results beyond simple mechanical system operation

o Interaction between multiple system types
  • Market Presence: Quickly gain client confidence in advanced solutions and drive innovation within client projects. Utilize soft skills to expand outside of current client footprint within the data center market
  • Operational Knowledge: Understand business metrics, financial operations, and successful commercial strategies.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Own key business metrics through strategic creation, client focus, quality attention, and shared excitement/innovation.


  • Skills and Experience

o 15+ years of Mission Critical and Data Center BMS/EPMS Experience

o Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural trades and industrial construction methods and how they interact with systems

o Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment with multiple stakeholders

o Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

o Strong attention to detail

o Solution orientated with solid problem-solving skills

o Ability and willingness to travel to project sites, client meetings, and conferences

o Ability to pass background check

o Must be able to work for any US Employer without current or future visa sponsorship

o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

o Excellent communication skills

o Familiarity with construction management software and tools

o Thorough understanding of construction methods and safety practices

o Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

o Knowledge of building codes and regulations

o Strong financial background related to the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction/implementation

o Experience with projects utilizing Autodesk Platforms and other digital design tools

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting to 20 pounds. Hand manipulation is required for grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and work at heights.
