Your Role

The Director of Transformation will work with a variety of leaders to identify, arrange and drive multiple large-scale, cross-functional strategic initiatives that enable growth, capability building, strategy and process improvement across VS&Co.

This role takes initiatives from strategy, feasibility and concept development through testing, execution and closure following a formalized initiative management approach. Project management considerations include, but are not limited to: scope, objectives, governance, approach, timeline, deliverables, risk, quality, success measures, resource planning and change management. The position requires a deep understanding of supply retail business processes and enterprise technology, the ability to embed best practices into daily operations and the ability to drive for results. The Director of Transformation will work with a variety of leaders to identify, arrange and drive multiple large-scale, cross-functional strategic initiatives that enable growth, capability building, strategy and process improvement across VS&Co.

Your Impact

Project Management

  • Translates business problems and concepts into actionable initiatives that deliver results
  • Guides working teams through successful achievement of milestones
  • Eliminates obstacles that impede progress and proactively develops mitigation plans
  • Leads the monitoring and communication of progress of strategic initiatives
  • Creates key business updates and communication to enterprise leaders (e.g. Executive Committees or Board of Directors)
  • Plans and allocates resources across strategic initiatives; identifies subject matter experts
  • Full program management responsibilities including analysis, planning and implementation of initiatives
  • Develops and manages all initiative activities include objective setting, governance definition, timeline creation, issue resolution, risk analysis, resource management, budget development, and status tracking and reporting
  • Identifies initiative costs, quantifies benefits and develops compelling business cases
  • Executes the daily tasks associated with assigned initiatives, conducts follow-up, facilitates meetings, coordinates communication and maintains documentation
  • Creates and delivers executive level presentations to drive decision making
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization and external constituencies, such as suppliers and 3rd party vendors


Business Process Improvement

  • Identifies and provides process expertise, view of current capabilities and cross-functional knowledge related to the movement of products, information and funds across the extended VS&Co business
  • Provides working knowledge of enterprise and supply chain systems such as order management, demand planning, product development, system integration, warehouse management and transportation management
  • Anticipate future improvement opportunities to address evolving business needs
  • Partners with business units and the VS&Co information technology organization to create functional specifications in support of technology implementation


Leadership

  • Partners with leaders to innovate, develop and promote the VS&Co strategy and integrate that strategy into daily operations across functions
  • Influences, drives decision making and guides direction with large-scale program teams to gain cross-functional alignment to achieve on-time execution of initiatives
  • Sets goals and drives team performance to achieve desired outcomes
  • Provides strategic thought partnership to functional and enterprise leaders


Talent Development

  • Builds, leads and manages cross-functional teams consisting of associates at all levels of the organization, from C-level executives to individual contributors
  • Potential to have direct supervisory responsibilities for managers and analysts on the Transformation team
  • Manages external resources (consultants and contractors) as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience organizing, managing and leading large project teams with minimal support from VP of Transformation
  • Experience managing a team of project managers
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and leadership skills that can be utilized to influence without authority
  • Ability to think strategically while focusing on tactical details
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain and enterprise technology, including future innovation and strategies
  • Ability to leverage diagnostic and problem-solving skills to creatively develop solutions to business problems
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization and with global teams; ability to identify audience and flex communication style as appropriate
  • High level of curiosity and ability to undertake ambiguous projects and add value quickly
  • Strong time management skills, including ability to manage competing priorities for the team to achieve expected results on time
  • Mature and open working style that stimulates a sense of excitement, cooperation and ownership and produces results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic culture
  • Ability to manage issues and conflicts to resolution with composure
  • Ability to effectively frame concepts and develop strawman operational models
  • Strong financial acumen; including comprehensive knowledge of financial terms and measures (e.g. retail math)
  • Proven technical aptitude to leverage software tools in the generation and management of project deliverables (i.e. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint


Years of Related Experience & Education

  • 10-15 years related experience
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • Schooling or equivalent experience related to Business, Supply Chain Management or Engineering
  • MBA preferred
  • SAP ERP, JDA, product development systems (Flex PLM / SAP PLM), Manhattan (WMS / TMS), analytics, or data visualization experience a plus
