  • As the Director of the Offer-Order-Distribution Technology, you will be leading a team at the forefront of the technical solutions that drive offer generation, order management and third-party distribution for our customers.
  • The role is responsible for significant top line impact to company revenues, specifically responsible for the systems/business processes that help influence and drive commercial decision making.
  • This role is a part of the Revenue Engineering team within the Revenue Management group


What you'll do

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders in support of offer generation, revenue projects and initiatives and supports prioritization efforts across the enterprise
  • Drives the third-party distribution strategy, including third-party connectivity to Online Travel Agencies, Meta-Search Engines, Travel Management Companies and Global Distribution Systems.
  • Engages with stakeholders across the organization to set the vision for Offer/Order implementation strategy and project plan.
  • Leads the teams responsible for delivery, execution, and performance of American's NDC (New Distribution Capability) in the marketplace
  • Manage the Product Roadmap for the New Distribution Capability by collaborating with IT partners to drive industry-leading solutions
  • Lead commercial strategies and negotiations with third-party distribution partners, including the Global Distribution Systems (GDSs)
  • Foster positive account management for distribution partners including Corporate Online Booking Tools (e.g., Concur Travel)
  • Creates a relentless focus on marketplace execution to drive incremental revenue outcome for American Airlines
  • Develops managers and analysts to ensure a high level of job proficiency and prepare them for future roles with increasing responsibility
  • Represent American Airlines and the oneworld Alliance at industry distribution initiatives


All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in a business discipline or equivalent experience/training Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training;
  • 7 years of leadership experience, overseeing large cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • MBA or Master's degree in STEM field referred
  • Distribution experience as both the partner and the airline
  • Keen understanding of industry distribution trends and emerging technologies and the way US Airways fits into the competitive landscape
  • Outstanding organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as with external agencies/vendors

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Understanding of airline economics, operations, and revenue management techniques, and the ability to apply that knowledge to strategic problems preferred
  • Ability to manage, motivate, coach, and counsel a diverse team of managers and analysts
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to changing priorities
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with and consensus amongst multiple stakeholders with varying points of view
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that effectively and clearly communicate a strategic vision
  • Demonstrated ability to create a culture of continuous improvement that is open and respectful and that thrives on diversity and trust
  • Proven ability of identifying, recruiting, and developing talent
