This position is remote eligible.
It will pay $103,500 - $124,700 annually with a 10% annual bonus eligible.

The Director, Operational Audits coordinates and supervises the internal auditing of CoreCivic facilities and monitors compliance levels related to contract requirements, applicable policies and procedures, court actions, and accreditation/certification standards. Assists facilities, through consulting engagements, in identifying areas of operational risk and developing recommendations to increase compliance and reduce risk at CoreCivic facilities. Provides detailed written reports and supervision and direction to audit team members.

What You Get To Do:
The Director, Operational Audits coordinates and supervises the internal auditing of CoreCivic facilities and monitors compliance levels related to contract requirements, applicable policies and procedures, court actions, and accreditation/certification standards. Assists facilities, through consulting engagements, in identifying areas of operational risk and developing recommendations to increase compliance and reduce risk at CoreCivic facilities. Provides detailed written reports and supervision and direction to audit team members.
- Coordinates and serves as team leader for conducting Facility Support Center internal audits and consulting engagements at CoreCivic facilities.
- Monitors compliance levels related to contract requirements, conducts risk assessments, assesses corrective action plan effectiveness and monitors facility self-monitoring system.
- Assists facility management in improving compliance levels with accreditations, contract requirements, court orders, policies, procedures and risk identification and management, by providing technical assistance through consulting engagements.
- Works in partnership with FSC departments, facility management, government agencies, external auditors and regulatory agencies on compliance related matters, as necessary.
- Coordinates internal operational audits as needed and determines readiness of facilities for external audits as part of the auditing process, utilizing and reviewing facility specific audit instruments where applicable.
- Assists in the development of an annual audit plan and schedules operational audits for the calendar year
- Supervises and evaluates audit team members and other staff in the performance of their duties as prescribed by company policy. This includes: training new employees, evaluating performance and preparing written performance reviews, listening to concerns and effectively resolving disputes or concerns, taking corrective or disciplinary action, and developing work schedules for staff.
- Directs audit team member resources and travel assignments for audits and consulting engagements for team members.
- Remains knowledgeable regarding ACA standards, NCCHC requirements, applicable government agency standards, and the Institute for Internal Audit (IIA) Global Internal Audit standards and The IIA Code of Ethics.
- Prepares comprehensive written reports for all audits and ensures that the results are evidence based, accurate, balanced and supportive of the conclusions reached in the report.
- Domestic U.S. travel is required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Criminal Justice, Technology, Internal Audit, Process Improvement, Business Administration, Healthcare or other acceptable related field is required.
- Five years of experience in the correctional industry is required. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Audit/Quality Assurance experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated team leadership and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and focus on task completion.
- Effective verbal communication presentation skills, strong written communication skills, and analytical skills is required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and obtain security clearance as required by federal and state government partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or other similar software is required.
