This leader will have strategic oversight over the following locations: Memorial Belleville, Memorial Shiloh, Alton Memorial, Christian Hospital and Parkland HealthCare.

Established a vision for Pharmacy operations that supports excellence in all aspects of performance, including safety, clinical, quality, service delivery, regulatory compliance, financial performance, transition of care, continuous improvement, pharmacy residency programs, wholsaler/distirbutor/vendor management. Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
- Participates in the strategic and operational direction of BJC Healthcare as it relates to pharmacy operations. Provides unique clinical and business perspectives in discussions and decisions related to standard practice models. Develops and implements a framework for an integrated system-wide approach to pharmacy services.
- Independently provides direction for pharmacy services by leading discussions and decisions regarding: (1) systemwide drug use, controlling pharmaceutical expense while maximizing patient outcomes through formulary management, (2) contract management with payors around reimbursement for high cost pharmaceuticals and margin impact with Managed Care and Revenue Cycle, (3) contract, procurement, receiving, security, inventory control, distribution and compounding as it related to standardizing, consolidating, outsourcing and regulatory compliance, (4) oversee Specialty Drug Pharmacy along with how it relates to 340B drug program.
- Provides direction to BJC Pharmacy directors and managers as need to ensure pharmacy services are aligned with the strategic priorities and goals of the BJC including the development of new and expanded pharmacy services, and the development and enhancement of technology-enabled programs.
- Oversees all pharmacy related aspects of BJC Infusion Centers including Hospital based, Freestanding and Home related therapies. Not responsible for Nursing or other operations within these services but does include pre-authorization requirements by payers and site of care decision base on patient need and financial obligation.
- Acts a a change agent to implement Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee actions, formulary compliance and standard practice models.
