Job Summary:

The Director of Product Management is responsible for all development, pricing, rollout, and management of products within an assigned state or group of assigned states. The individual will report directly to the SVP of Product and will be a member of the Product Group Leadership Team. This role is also responsible for underwriting profitability and controlled premium growth based on annual objectives.

The Director of Product Management works as a "hub" within the company liaising with sales, customer solutions, IT, claims, and the executive team to create and maintain positive revenue and profitability growth for the insurance programs within their assigned state(s). They will also have a product manager or group or product managers responsible for state performance reporting to them.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage strategies to open, penetrate or expand markets for our minimum limit auto insurance products.
  • Determine profitable and salable price levels and program construction for given states.
  • Responsible for extraction and analysis of statistical data for decision-making purposes.
  • Identifies product issues and opportunities. Performs and/or oversees the analytical work necessary to complete national, group, state, or product level analyses.
  • Consult on corporate objectives and resolve business problems associated with state programs.
  • Drive sales and marketing activities within assigned state(s).
  • Ensure compliance with state laws and regulations relative to rate, rule, and form filings and obtain regulatory approval for filings.
  • Responsible for policy form and endorsement construction and ancillary form construction (cancellation notices, applications for insurance, etc.).
  • Responsible for ongoing modifications to forms, agency manuals, product announcements, etc.
  • Create and maintain a competitive library.
  • Must interact with and influence all areas of the organization, including IT, Claims, Customer Solutions, Executive, and Marketing to implement new products or product revisions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of implementation, including state filings and interaction with third party vendors.
  • Must interact and influence external constituents such as agents, regulators, and vendors.


Requirements

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM-related field, Business or Finance.
  • 5 years of product development/management, pricing, statistical analysis and/or applied predictive analytics experience for a state or a group of states.
  • Significant knowledge of insurance filing laws, actuarial principles, rate structures and policy form construction.
  • Someone who can "run the room" and function as a leader/presenter.

Preferred

  • 8 years of experience running full P&L over a state or group of states.
  • Master's Degree in a STEM-related field, Business, or Finance.
  • Professional industry designations (e.g. CPCU).
  • Actuarial/Pricing background.
