Job Summary:

Maintains responsibility for Quality management initiatives. Is responsible to provide overall direction, development, implementation and integration of the Quality Management program which includes compliance with all the Joint Commission, Federal, State and local reporting requirements. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Seven years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Five years' leadership experience: Preferred


Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required


Essential Functions:
  • Directs the development of programs/processes related to Quality Management. Provides education to all Hospital staff to clarify the role of Quality Management Department as well as their role in quality as employees. Facilitates organization wide transition to Quality Improvement through development of standards, indicators and evaluation techniques.
  • Controls all elements of areas of responsibility by developing policy/procedure, monitoring performance, developing/reviewing metrics, assessing/prioritizing risk, conducting mock inspections and reporting results of same to senior management.
  • Evaluates various attributes of health care, such as cost, place, accessibility, treatment, and benefits are compared with standard results; then, any deficiencies noted or identified serves to prompt recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintains responsibility for the timely review of medical records using established and approved criteria, ensuring the evaluation of identified condition and implementation of follow-up measure for Quality and Risk related issues. Directs collection, analysis and dissemination of utilization and Risk assessment data as well as information on quality and customer related information and issues.
  • Maintains responsibility for coordination all investigations, focused reviews, and root cause analysis in collaboration with Risk Management, including coordinating Medical Staff regarding Peer Review and other provider related Risk and Quality issues, keeping Regional and Network Directors informed at all times.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
