Responsibilities

Direct and lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for radiation therapy service.

  • Recruit, interview, hire and evaluate staff within the department.
  • Prepare departmental budget and ensure that department operate within allocated funds.
  • Determine and justify needs for equipment purchases, adhere to policies regarding purchases, monitor installation and oversee functionality.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor plan for patient care service in the radiology department.
  • Overseespreparation and maintenance of record including: daily treatment dose and calculation, description of treatment portal, application of special treatment device, and reproducibility of treatment set-up.
  • Assure department goal are integrated with organization's strategic plan, and all department operation are in compliance with JCAHO standard, and other applicable regulatory, and accrediting agencies.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:

    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Maryland Board of Physicians required.
    • Radiation Therapist credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor'

    degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those year

    being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) who is also a Radiation Therapy Therapists (RTT) would be preferred for this position.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital based Radiation Oncology practice.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising Radiation Oncology staff and operations.

- Candidate must posses a CMD and/or a RTT certification.
