General Job Summary:

Directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of the Revenue Management functions and provides systems support.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain strategic plan for revenue management system to maintain its efficient and effective revenue invoicing and collection capabilities
  • Manages RMI to support accurate and effective invoicing and collection of revenue
  • Manages the car-hire process.
  • Managing system reporting functions, i.e., interchange, equipment inventory, demurrage, diversions, customer switch requests and equipment orders.
  • Prepare and distribute concise carload and revenue reports
  • Administer and support electronic means of communication, i.e., personal computers, cell phone, e-mail, internet, VPN or any other technology support required.
  • Administrator Railinc and RMI for approving users' permissions and login credentials

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with department employee scheduling and employee payroll reporting as needed. (ADP/RMI)
  • Prepare office equipment and software AFEs
  • Supervise and train revenue management personnel
  • Develop and administer the department's annual budget

Basic Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Read, write, and communicate (speak, hear, and understand) in English
  • Ability to read and comprehend written safety rules, procedure and safety manuals, government regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and other work-related information.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be safety conscious and able to support and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Effectively communicate in all encounters in a clear, concise, courteous, efficient, and professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or another similar degree plan
  • Five (5) years of experience in railroad operations
  • Previous management or supervisor experience.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to perform troubleshooting on personal computers.
  • Knowledgeable installing and troubleshooting software packages including Word, Excel, QuickBooks, RMI and computer-aided dispatching system as may be necessary to support various company requirements.


Work Environment:
  • This position is in person, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend coverage as needed.
  • Generally, indoors in an office environment, with occasional outdoor work. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.
